Originally staged by Hull Truck in 1992, Godber takes a comic look at the office politics of a Leeds based advertising agency leading up to, during and following their Christmas party. The stock characters of any office environment are faithfully recreated at The Chapman and Howard Group; the flirty secretary, the geeky graphic designer, the letch, the office mum, the boss, the new girl and the colleague perpetually on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Tacit converted the stage of the Arthur Cotterell Theatre into a fully functioning office for our production, and transported the employees of Chapman and Howard from 1992 to 2007.
